New Series: Art Make & Take for Kids and Families

Beginning in October and running through May, The Lake Superior Art Association will be offering a new series of art activities, Art Make & Take for Kids and Families.

Activities will be geared toward 2nd-8th graders. The art activities will take place on the 3rd Saturday of each month, from 10:30AM-11:30AM at Peter White Public Library, downstairs in Studio 1.

Each month, activities will focus on a different Element of Art and a certified art teacher will lead the day’s activities.

Saturday, October 17th ART Make & Take for Kids and Families

We will be doing some fun printmaking activities! Participants will be making printing plates using foam board and pointed dowels. Printmaking ink will then be rolled onto the plates and prints will be made on canvas bags* or paper. A cool design can be made with multiple prints, especially when fabric markers are used to add color.

*Tote bags are limited to the first 30 who attend.

There is no cost to participate and pre-registration is not required. All materials are provided by Lake Superior Art Association. It’s a good idea to bring along a paint shirt, if you have one, or an old T-shirt.
