Founded in 1978, the group sews bed quilts, wall quilts, and other items for local organization such as: Bay Cliff Health Camp, Trillium Hospice House, Harbor House, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), UP Health Systems, St. Vincent de Paul and Marquette County Medical Care Facility. MCQA holds regular workshops to celebrate and teach quilting techniques.

SCHOOL OF ART AND DESIGN NORTHERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY

The school offers classes in twelve area: art education, art history, ceramics, computer art, digital cinema, drawing/painting, graphic design, human-centered design, illustration, metalsmithing/sculpture, photograph and woodworking/furniture. In addition, the department is about to add another major in social media design in collaboration with the marketing department.
