We’ve finally rescheduled Kathy’s much anticipated presentation! Community members are invited to join Kathy on November 3 at 6:30 in Studio 1 of the Peter White Public Library.
The Lake Superior Art Association will host an Art Talk by Kathy Binoniemi, who is well known for charming landscapes executed in the challenging medium of chalk pastels.
Though pastel painting has been around since the 16th century, it’s not as well known as watercolor or oil painting. Learn about the different varieties of pastels and substrates used, as Kathy demonstrates the techniques for applying these tools.
Kathy is a local artist who has been painting exclusively with pastels since discovering the medium about 6 years ago. Before turning to pastel painting, Kathy worked in a variety of mediums. Her pencil drawing of a Model A Ford is in the permanent collection at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn.
