At the Deo: Color Memories, artist Ginnie Cappaert

Color Memories, an exhibit by artist Ginnie Cappaert is on display in the Deo Gallery through the months of December and January. There will NOT be an Artist Reception for this exhibit. Ginnie Cappaert is a fulltime visual artist with a studio/gallery in Egg Harbor, Wisconsin.  Her surroundings and love of nature inspire and influence her oil, mixed media paintings that she has become known for.  She lived in the beautiful Upper Peninsula for thirty years before moving to Door County to open an art gallery. Marquette Monthly COVER ART CONTEST

Submit artwork at 9.75" wide by 12" tall in full color. Only print quality, vertical images will be considered. Up to 6 submissions per artist allowed. Email files by December 1, 2023 to: info@marquettemonthly.com The MM committee will then review all submissions and choose the 2024 Marquette Monthly covers.All artists will be notified if their work has been chosen. LSAA would like to thank everyone who donated their Tadych’s Marketplace (Econo) receipts this year.

We received checks that totaled $645.40 to help with our mission. We could not have accomplished this without YOU!  We continue collecting grocery receipts from this year into next year. Tadych’s Marketplace will give 1% of the total register receipts to LSAA (a 501c3-not for profit organization) when turned in twice a year according to their instructions. There is a drop-box at the Deo Gallery, in the Peter White Public Library. You can also mail the receipts to LSAA, PO Box 9, Marquette, MI 49855

An exhibition of the work of Carol Phillips and David Schmitt The Deo Gallery in located at the Marquette Arts & Culture Center on the lower level of the Peter White Public Library; 217 North Front St., Marquette. LSAA Annual Meeting and Potluck

The Lake Superior Art Association held their annual all members' meeting on Tuesday, September 12th. The general membership voted to accept newly updated bylaws, and approved the slate of new Executive Board members. This year, the meeting was more of a celebration. Incoming President Lynn Buckland-Brown organized a potluck dinner, along with door prizes.
