The artwork boasts the honest simplicity of children’s art, guided by their teachers. A reception held for The annual Dog Dayz of Winter Art Show. The reception was open to the public, the artists and their families on Saturday, February 17. There are some fantastic new ideas this year, so please stop by to see their work! The show will be up through February, in the Art and Culture studio room, in the lower level of the Peter White Public Library. This exhibit is brought to you by the Lake Superior Art Association.

Get Ready for the 2024 Fresh Coast Plein Air Festival!

This year, we have also added an “Afterglow” Event on Sunday, June 30. The seventh annual Fresh Coast Plein Air Painting Festival and Competition will be held throughout Marquette, Michigan on Friday & Saturday, June 28 and 29. The festival, presented by Lake Superior Art Association, is part of the “Grand Finale” of the City of Marquette’s Art Week. Dog Dayz paint session photos

The Lake Superior Art Association continues its mission to promote and encourage the development of visual arts... in a most adorable way! Marlene Wood volunteered to do a free class for students to make Dog Dayz of Winter Art. Explorers and Artists: The Group of Seven

It was standing room only for Lynn Buckland-Brown's LSAA presentation this past Tuesday! It was standing room only for Lynn Buckland-Brown's LSAA presentation this past Tuesday. Her topic: Explorers and Artists: The Group of Seven drew community and LSAA members who were interested in learning more about a unique style of wilderness landscape painting developed by a group of Canadian artists in the early part of the last century. The winning entry is a central part of the annual Mackinac Island Lilac Festival and is printed as a poster to be sold at Mackinac Island businesses.
