The Lake Superior Art Association’s 75th anniversary included a wonderful evening of history, funny stories, and fabulous food and drink.

This event was held on May 13th, 2026 at the Marquette Regional History Center to a packed room of art lovers.
John French, the current LSAA president, welcomed the huge crowd gathered to celebrate and thanked those involved in preparing and executing this great event.

Thanks go out to Jack Deo and Diane Kordich for researching and sharing an array of photographs relaying the tales of triumph and tragedies associated with such a storied past as we look to the future and a continuation of bringing the arts to Marquette County.

Thanks also to Kim Danielson for her delicious sweets and Roxanne Dragon and her company, Roxanne Cooks, for the beautiful and tasteful arrangement of foods for all to enjoy.
Thank you to Cloverland Band for providing the perfect music to listen to as we ate, mingled, and conversed after the presentation.

Thanks to all the volunteers and committee members for the time and talent to produce a great evening.
Many artists, volunteers, and current and former LSAA board members, as well as LSAA members and community members, were in attendance to join in the celebration.

And thanks too to the Marquette Regional History Center for help with research and hosting and welcoming LSAA to celebrate this amazing milestone.

LSAA is donating $5,000.00 to the Anita Meyland NMU Art Scholarship Fund, which provides much-needed assistance to NMU students pursuing a career in the arts, and is urging the community to donate matching funds through the our website
