LSAA Visual Arts Grant Presentation

LSAA Visual Arts Grant Awards to be Announced. Recipients of  LSAA Visual Arts Grants will be announced on January 21st preceding Adam Mowafy's Art Talk at 6:30 pm in the PWPL Studio 1. These grants provide an annual award pool of $5,000 for any persons, groups, or organizations, in Marquette county that need financial assistance to purchase art supplies. The 2024 Awardees will be announced, and awardees will give a quick recap of their projects. Lake Superior Art Association Inc. has $5,000 funding for artist supplies and/or projects for Marquette County residents or organizations.  Recipients may be featured in the LSAA Inc.…

Watercolor Batik and Beyond Workshop with Judy Parlato

a fiber artist presentation This is a members only event, limited to 12 participants. Date: Saturday March 15, 2025 from 1:00-3:00pm. PWPL -Studio 1 Cost: $35.00. Advance registration required below. Artist Judy Parlato will guide participants in using watercolor batik techniques to create an image of their choice on rice paper. This technique can be applied to standalone pieces of art, and it can also be expanded into other fiber art forms. Judy has explored many avenues for taking watercolor batik imagery to the next level by creating journal covers, table runners, placemats, and T-shirts.  Participants need to bring their own watercolor…

Adam Mowafy's Art Talk: Artwork Made from Repurposed Metal has been rescheduled for Wednesday February 12 in the Heritage Room of the PWPL from 6:30pm until 8:00pm, .Adam’s creations illustrate an innovative approach to upcycling and recycling. “I fell into the car and car repair scene as a teenager. As I got older there was lots of exposure to spare parts and assorted junk laying around. The 65th Annual Art on the Rocks will be held on July 26-27, 2025 at Mattson Lower Harbor Park in Marquette, Michigan. LSAA Logo Contest Announcement

The Lake Superior Art Association is looking for a new logo! Yes, it is time for an updated logo for LSAA, Inc., more popularly known as The Lake Superior Art Association. The logo contest is open to all artists, with a $500 prize to the artist who creates the logo selected to represent the organization. LSAA Members’ Exhibit Reception and Awards
