Artist Judy Parlato will guide participants in using watercolor batik techniques to create an image of their choice on rice paper. This technique can be applied to standalone pieces of art, and it can also be expanded into other fiber art forms. Judy has explored many avenues for taking watercolor batik imagery to the next level by creating journal covers, table runners, placemats, and T-shirts.
Participants need to bring their own watercolor paints and preferred brushes. Judy will provide rice paper, wax, applicator, and sample drawings for image ideas.
For an additional $8.00, (transfer paper and journal costs) participants can transfer their image onto fabric and make a journal/book cover during the workshop. A sewing machine will be available. Requires minimal sewing and help will be available.
