Deo Gallery Exhibit: Taimur Cleary

Cleary’s Deo Gallery Exhibit will be available for viewing through the end of August. Taimur Cleary in northern Michigan. He painted as a child, and has found various ways to maintain the habit; including but not limited to, undergraduate degrees in painting and photography at Miami University, and an MFA from Pratt Institute. He has received a range of grants, awards, and residencies as an artist and educator. Art on the Rocks Anniversary Celebration

ART ON THE ROCKS WEEKEND: FRIDAY, JULY 29, 2022, 2-4:30pm/Reception at 5pm The Lake Superior Art Association celebrated their 70th anniversary, as well as the 62nd  anniversary of Art on the Rocks! The celebration was held on July 29th at Father Marquette Park, which was the site of the first few Art on the Rocks Art Fairs! The celebration was open to all community members of all ages, with plein air painting outdoors. 2022 Art on the Rocks was at the end of July

MATTSON LOWER HARBOR PARK.JPG The 62nd Annual Art on the Rocks was held at Mattson Lower Harbor Park, 200 Lakeshore Blvd, Marquette, MI. In 1959, the Lake Superior Art Association established Art on the Rocks. This art fair was held around the statue of Father Jacques Marquette. The name was derived from the location–on a black rocky hillside. There were 35 artists showing their work near the new Marquette Chamber of Commerce building on South Front Street.  It was held at this location from 1959-1964.
